I carried around a book this afternoon. I’m not sure why I carried around the book because I don’t often carry around my books. It just so happened that I had no one to eat with today, so I brought this book to dinner before the InterVarsity* gathering.
During the gathering, we embarked on a discussion about a passage of the Bible that describes Moses’ interaction with God and his fears about leading God’s people. (Exodus 3:11-12) We began small group discussion sessions on questions about the comfort zone, how God lets his people know they are on the right path, following your dreams, and what it means to live out your faith. We also talked about how Moses’ made excuses as to why he wasn’t the man for the job.
The Book was sitting on the table in front of me during this whole IV discussion, and I wasn’t paying any attention to it.
The last question on the power point slide was a reflection question and read as follows: What do you feel God is calling you to do and what are your excuses?”
As everyone was getting settled and began reflecting, God spoke to me in a very clear way, and answered the question for me. As my gaze fell to the table in front of me I saw my book:

Reflection Question: What is God calling you to do, and what are your excuses? God’s Answer: Live the Dream, No More Excuses
Live the Dream, No More Excuses**
I knew that what I was doing was the path that I was supposed to take, and it was time to step up to the work and get out of my comfort zone. God does answer prayers. I know what I need to do.
You can too.
*Intervarsity is a Christian organization on college campuses. It’s goal is to spread the Word on campus and help students discover and discuss Jesus.
**Live the Dream, No More Excuses is an incredible new book written by first-time-author Larry Winters. I highly suggest picking up this book. It’s Larry’s incredible rags-to-riches story.
